Case Study: Mandarin Oriental - Las Vegas

It started with two companies, The Group and The Oriental.

The company, The Oriental had already established a legendary property called The Oriental in 1876 and was acknowledged as one of the world’s great hotels.

Meanwhile, another company, The Group began with the opening of its flagship property, The Mandarin, in Hong Kong, which soon built up a reputation for luxurious service.

Both hotels, whose names were among the best in hospitality, rationalized its corporate structure by combining these two properties under a common name, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Today, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group operates 41 hotels representing over 10,000 rooms in 27 countries, with 18 hotels in Asia, 12 in The Americas and 12 in Europe and North Africa.

In December of 2009, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group established their luxury hotel, Mandarin Oriental, in the heart of Las Vegas, at the entrance of City Center.

The 47-story, non-gaming hotel features 392 guestrooms and suites, as well as a 27,000 sq. ft. spa and fitness center. The Mandarin Oriental has been awarded the esteemed AAA Five Diamond Award rating as well as the Forbes Five-Star award for their Spa.
