Environ II™ Mats Promote Gradual, Even Heating

At 10 - 12 watts per square foot, Environ II™ floor heating mats gradually and evenly warm delicate carpet, laminate and floating wood floor coverings. The wafer-thin aluminum foil mats measure just 1/16” thick, and install easily by a do-it- yourself homeowner or flooring professional.

Whether you are installing the mats directly in between the carpet and padding, or in the case of laminate and floating wood, between the sub floor and the floor covering, there is virtually no impact on the height of the floor.

Also, consider the R-Value - the thermal resistance rating of your carpet and padding. Higher R-values help prevent the heat from sinking into the floor, which increases the energy efficiency of the floor heating system. We recommend prime polyurethane padding with a density greater than 8 lbs. per cubic feet to maximize energy efficiency.

Cleaning Carpet with Environ II™ Installed Underneath

Whether you are steam cleaning your entire room or just cleaning up a coffee spill or pet accident on your carpet, it’s not a problem. Cleaning has no adverse effects on an installed Environ II™ floor heating system. UL (Underwriter’s Laboratory) performed extreme testing where the Environ II system was immersed in salt water for several hours, and it continued to function safely. WarmlyYours recommends that you turn the Environ II™ system off when cleaning your carpet out of an abundance of caution.
