For floor heating in showers, saunas, or spas, a transformer is required in addition to a control. 24 volt is not recommended for open areas more than 50 square feet because of the large size transformer that would be required.
"Fantastic product! We found the installation instructions to be complete and easily understood. The only addition I would make to the instructions would be to emphasize the importance of gluing or stapling down the web in many locations, especially when using the two step thin set method. We caused ourselves much extra work by being sparse with the glue down, and then having to go back and level for the second coat of thin set. "

"I like it..."
"I like it. Coming in mesh mat form definitely helped this first timer. The MULTIPLE warnings about remembering to install the thermostat also helped.
I was a little confused for a while about how to trim the excess 'cold' feeds without damaging the 'hot' feeds, but I figured it out with some study. My floors are quite warm where the leads are placed and there is a definite difference between warm and (purposefully) un-warmed sections of my tile.
I probably would have preferred a 120v installation where the cold leads were both routed back to the thermostat within the mesh mat system. It was very troublesome to run the far end 'cold' line back to the thermostat. It requires a lot of hot glue and a lot of holding the wire down (until the glue cools) to keep the wire from springing up through the wet thinset. I was only moderately successful. Also, the routing of the cold return wire kept me from pushing the mat as close as I wanted to the threshold, so I have a tiny section of less than warm tile. "

"Worked as advertised. Went down with little problem. Unfortunately, the mat was larger than I actually needed, so had to spend some time putting coils behind doors and other places I didn't need just to use up the coil. The measurements and installation guide are good, but not perfect. I did lay out and plan how I would implement the install, and still wound up with more heater than needed.
Now that it is installed and working, totally love it. Thermostat system is great and the timer actually changed for daylight savings time automatically as advertised. "

"Very happy with our purchase..."
"We are very happy with our purchase. My husband and I do a lot of the renovation and maintenance in our 1920's home (except for things like major plumbing and electric work). We were slightly nervous about installing the mats ourselves, but it was really very easy. In fact this morning was expected to be chilly and we set the thermostat last night. What a cozy feeling! We love our heated kitchen floor. It had been vinyl and it's over a crawl space, not basement like the rest of the house. We knew it would be a mistake to install porcelain tile without heat as it would draw heat from our feet more than the vinyl.
Customer service at Warmly Yours was always there when we had a question. We would absolutely recommend this product to anyone with do-it-yourself skills or a contractor."

It seems to be working nicely, but since we have not moved into that space yet it's still too early to tell.

"This was installed & it has never worked. We took out the transformer & was told we needed to abandon the shower if it's not hooked up to the transformer as it was all wired together when the tile man covered the dam. There is no other way to make it work it seems - $1K down the drain.
We are looking into going back to SunTouch or hydronic for the next big project with 7 bathrooms. Not good product advertising for the design trade if it's that difficult to fix. I've also used this product on two other jobs - one of which the electrician refused to place in the shower so there was additional mat left. The other one - we had to replace the control already.

The install went well except for the thermostat sensor and two lead-in heating element wires which elevated the floor tiles due to their thickness.
Programmable thermostat functions well and is a necessity to manage electric costs.
I had to install a cork underlayment because of the concrete flooring. This should be indictaed in the instructions otherwise the desired temperature will not be attained.
Overall this is agreat product and folks around here are not aware of the availability of radiant electric floor heating. Being that this was installed into a basement bathroom its a pleasure to step onto a warm floor pre and post shower."

Once the floor is warm, the system will only draw energy a third of the time. In a typical bathroom, 24/7 operation would cost about 56 cents per day (30 sq ft of heated space, 12 cents per kilowatt).

2Low Voltage Floor Heating
"Slow warm up time over concrete floor..."
"The first thing that bothered me was once installed, it took a long time (about +12hours) for the floor to start to feel heated. Since it took a long time, I didn't want to turn it off, so I leave it set at 80 degrees all day long to feel some warmth (I would increase it, but it says 82 degrees is the max to set it).
Another thing that I wished could be better was the temperature of the floor. We used a self leveler and our subfloor is concrete, so maybe that affected it, but I don't feel the heat strong enough.
The thermostat look and settings is really nice and the shipping was fast, so that was good. "

WarmlyYours Comment:
Absolutely. We've heard similar customer feedback with cold concrete floors and have decided to start carrying insulation. We now advise all our customers with concrete slabs to add cork insulation.
