Radiant Heating Product Comparison: WarmlyYours and Nuheat
• The NUHEAT product is a fixed size mat, either standard or custom-size. Most bathrooms have a toilet room, a vanity or an angled-tub that will cause the open floor accessible for heating to have an odd-shape. In cases where a standard rectangular mat will leave some cold areas, NUHEAT installations are done with at least one custom-size mat, uniquely fabricated to the dimensions of one room. Custom-size also implies custom-price and custom-delivery date.
• The WarmlyYours TempZone can be cut-&-turned to fit any odd shape room. All rolls are prefabricated to standard size and are in inventory. We design a detailed customized installation plan for every job. However the roll is not cut in advance, the installer has the freedom to make adjustments as needed in the field. This is particularly helpful when there are last minute changes.
• NUHEAT uses a solid mesh to hold the resistance wire in place. Two layers of thinset cement need to be installed: the first layer is on the subfloor, the NUHEAT mat is then laid on this thinset mortar and any air bubbles need to be pushed out of the area covered by the heater mat. Then, a second layer of thinset is laid above the NUHEAT mesh. The NUHEAT mat is semi-permeable and the two layers of thinset (under and above the mat) are needed for the liquid portion of the thinset cement to permeate the solid mesh material. The WarmlyYours TempZone heater wire is sewn to a fiberglass net. The fiberglass net has ¼" holes and the thinset cement will pass through the holes. The Tempzone rolls can be secured to the subfloor with staples, hot glue or adhesive spray, and then covered with a single layer of thinset cement.
• The NUHEAT products are 12-watt/sq.ft. and they can be installed in thinset cement under tile and stone, or directly under floating installations of laminates and engineered wood . The maximum power allowed by the National Electrical Code is 15-watt/sq.ft. WarmlyYours’ TempZone which is most commonly used under ceramic tile and stone is a 15-watt/sq.ft. heater, the highest allowed by the code. Under wood or carpet, it is important to heat slower rather than fast and WarmlyYours ENVIRON II™ product for application under floating wood or carpet is rated at 10-watt/sq.ft.

• The NUHEAT Design and Specification process needs “FINAL CONFIRMED Dimensions” and once manufactured, it cannot accommodate changes of the area to be heated. In the field, it often takes 1 or 2 weeks to get “Final Confirmed Dimensions” while the homeowner makes her final choices of appliances and the delivery of a custom-size mat will require the time needed to manufacture this one-of-a-kind product.
