Electric Floor Heating by WarmlyYours

Electric Floor Heating The Perfect Warming System for You

Electric floor heating is used as an effective and energy efficient way to provide heat for many of the most used rooms in a home:

Bathrooms, Kitchens, Bedrooms, Basements, and Bathrooms

Electric floor heating is easy to install and there are options for every floor type including:

Tile, LV, Nailed Hardwood, and Floating Laminate, just to name a few.

Why Install Radiant Heated Floors?

  • Comfort The number one reason to install radiant heating under a new floor is absolutely the comfort, a heated floor is literally luxury you can feel but you probably already knew that.
  • Clean Radiant floor heating is a very clean heat since it doesn’t rely on forced air, which can circulate dust and other allergens.
  • Safe All of our electric floor heating products have been rigorously tested and are cULus or cCSAus listed.
  • Forced Air Alternative Floor heating isn’t loud like a central furnace, doesn’t dry out the air, and requires no regular maintenance.
  • Affordable Electric floor heating is inexpensive if you put it in while you’re already replacing or installing a floor. In fact, the cost for the system itself is as low as $5 per square foot. Unlike hydronic systems, an electric in-floor heating system doesn't require expensive pumps or water heaters.
  • Saves Energy Radiant heating has higher levels of energy efficiency than central air systems because it heats the people and objects in the room directly via infrared heat. Radiant heated floors are also inexpensive to operate, you can heat a typical bathroom for pennies a day. For more information see Is Radiant Heat Energy Efficient?
  • Flexible Under floor heating can be used as your primary heat source or as a way to add supplemental heat to rooms that are tricky to heat like the basement or a room above a garage.
  • Easy-to-Use Thermostats The secret to any great heating system is a great control and we've got an entire line of them. Shop Thermostats

Are Radiant Heat Floors Energy Efficient?

The answer is yes, floor warming is a very efficient way to provide heat. Electric underfloor heating cables use electrical resistance to generate heat that is then radiated to the solid objects in a room. This means much less wasted energy than in other forms of heating like forced air, because the solid objects heated by a radiant source will retain their energy longer than hot air will.

However, while a radiant heat system is very cost effective, it still uses electricity. The operating cost for your radiant heating system will depend on a few things like the size of your system, the temperature you're trying to achieve, and the cost of electricity in your area.

Flooring Types and Radiant Heating

The type of floor you want to heat will have a huge impact on the heating system that our team of engineers will quote you in your free, custom SmartPlan. This is because every floor is made of different materials and has unique construction methods. For example, tile floors need to be paired with a heating system that is embedded in the same thinset or self-leveling cement that adheres the tile to the subfloor. On the other hand, floating wood floors require an adhesive-free mat that is designed for that application. With our expansive product portfolio and our decades of experience in the industry, we’ll be able to identify the right heated flooring system for your project.

Some quick facts about floor heating, flooring types, and rooms:

  • Did you know that in an average year, about 88% of all in-floor heating projects for WarmlyYours involve tile floors?
  • In recent years, two of the fastest growing flooring types for pairing with underfloor heating have been vinyl (specifically Luxury Vinyl Tile) and wood (largely nailed hardwood).
  • Bathrooms and kitchens are the two most popular rooms for electric radiant heating. In a typical year, bathrooms will make up over half of all the projects we heat.

Slab Heat Cables

Slab Heat Cables

The product is as advertised. We are 1 year in and could not be happier. The install was not difficult, and it is a dream in the winter. We keep the temp around 75 you don't need 80 and it is heaven to walk into the bathroom (Ok, we keep the house at 68 in the winter). I ended up installing the flex roll and then putting leveler mud on top and then tiled. Just perfect!

Everything we hoped it would be

Electric Floor Heating

The warm floor in the morning is everything we hoped it would be. It makes walking on the ceramic tile so nice. The thermostat works so easily. Programmed when we are gone and warms it up before sleep and early morning. We love it.

Tim Barry, PITTSBURGH, PA

TempZone cable is an excellent, durable heating cable

TempZone Cable

TempZone cable is an excellent, durable heating cable, possibly the stoutest I've worked with. I was amazed at the level of detail applied in an architectural drawing, available as a free service, by the Tech Department. The cable was well packaged, and shipped a day sooner than expected. I also received follow up service after the install by my representative.

Great product!

Electric Floor Heating

Great product. I am now a fan of radiant flooring. We used this for a room on the bottom floor of our 3 story town-home which used to be 10 degrees or so colder then the upper levels. This product is a great energy efficient way to keep a room at the desired temperature. Fairly easy to install and setup. Installation videos were helpful.

Joshua R., SOUTH JORDAN, UT

Very easy to DYI. The instructions and the videos on the website were extremely helpful. The product works great. Nice even heat distribution. I keep the floor temp same as room temp. Big difference in comfort level. Good stuff!
