Can a LAVA unit be recessed into the wall so the front surface is flush with the wall surface?

We recommend an open 1.5" (3.5cm) space around the edge of the LAVA for air circulation and easier installation. UL requires that the On/Off switch must be operable and visible, and no flammable materials may be used around the LAVA.
