This may surprise some remodelers, but U.S. residential remodeling activity reached its highest level since 2004 in September, signaling the 23rd consecutive month of increases and a 34 percent increase from September of 2010. The BuildFax Residential Remodeling Index reached 141.4 in September, up from 138.6 in August. If you live in a cold climate, then, when winter rolls around, you probably know what it’s like to be in a house with insufficient heating. You wake up, your face is cold and you can’t bear to get out from under your covers.
