Start with model-specific installation instructions, not a brand-wide approval list.
These manufacturers publish useful guidance for selecting a compatible product, but the guidance does not approve every floor they sell:
- COREtec: the Originals/WPC installation instructions linked from its installation page address embedded electric radiant heating, including at least ½ inch separation from the flooring, an 85°F maximum operating temperature and an in-floor sensor recommendation. Check that the guide applies to the exact product on the carton.
- Karndean: use its separate Loose Lay, Gluedown or Rigid Core instructions. They require compatibility with the heating system and appropriate embedding of mesh/wire systems. Temperature and startup requirements depend on the format and market.
Do not treat Marmoleum as an LVT product or as a universal electric-heating option. Marmoleum is linoleum, and the current Cinch LOC SEAL instructions recommend hydronic underfloor heating only. Other products require their own instructions.
Before ordering, retain the installation guide for the exact flooring SKU and confirm the electric-heating allowance, permitted embedment/underlayment, maximum temperature and required control. An unverified historical brand list or a statement that a company allows radiant heat is insufficient.
