One of the 3 mats is not working
Of the 3 treads I recieved, 2 of them werked well. The 3rd one worked for about a week and stopped working. I found a black scorch mark on the step, under the tread where the connection was made. After that the GFI would not stay set. I think there must have been a defect in the tread or the connector. I have yet to contact the company about this issue as it is spring and it not needed.

Shower mirror
I use it behind a shower mirror. Does not seem to take away the mist as well as I thought it would. Maybe it has to be on for a longer period of before getting in?

circuit check made it real easy
circuit check made it real easy to ensure you didn't have problems with the wiring before you layed the tile ... and again after all remodeling was complete to make sure I didn't jiggle the wiring in the box.

Can't say enough about it
So awesome waking up in the morning during the winter months, heading into the bathroom and having a toasty warm tile floor. You product works wonderful. I can't say enough good about it.

Love the product but takes time to heat the room
love the product a nice even heat my only complaint would be that it takes a while to heat the room ( it is in the basement so this is understadable )
hi John, we have just edited our Environ II page to add more information about insulation to increase floor warm-up time. When designing projects for customers, we recommend cork for installations over cold slabs. Thanks for your helpful comments!
Batteries have limited life
Once I learned that the batteries in the circuit checker had a very limited life I realized I should not have left it on during complete install. Better to just stop and test along the way. Got a false reading at end. I realize a better checker is avail but more money. Maybe bold print instructions about battery life or some such.
Item Reviewed:Great stepping out of the shower on a warm floor
System has been up and running smoothly for 4 months now. The install went well except for the thermostat sensor and two lead-in heating element wires which elevated the floor tiles due to their thickness. Programmable thermostat functions well and is a necessity to manage electric costs. I had to install a cork underlayment because of the concrete flooring. This should be indictaed in the instructions otherwise the desired temperature will not be attained. Overall this is agreat product and folks around here are not aware of the availability of radiant electric floor heating. Being that this was installed into a basement bathroom its a pleasure to step onto a warm floor pre and post shower.

The tempzone roll was easy to install and with the Ditra system combined, the installation was done in a single day. The problem I have is with the temperature control unit. It is hard to read and does not light up (background lit) when adjusting the time/zones or setting temperature. I find this to be a problem with my Age in Place customers who have difficulty seeing and pushing buttons (60+ years of age).

The system was very easy to install and it works very well. The customer support was fantastic. My only challenge was during the install, I found it very had to build up a thick enough layer of thin set to cover the heating element, the next time I install a system, I will use the self leveling compound, even though it will be more work.

I ordered the honeywell circuit check and opted to use an ohm meter instead.
Thanks for the feedback. You should use both circuit check and ohm meter. The circuit check controls the system at all time during the installation. The ohm meter is a more precise check done only 2-3 times during the install.

I ordered the Smartstat with my radiant floor mats. The unit works great. My contractor/electrician found it easy to install and was quite impressed with the whole system. The only complaint he had was the temperature sensor was only mentioned in the step by step thermostat installation instructions. By the time he read it the carpet had already been installed and we could no longer attach the sensor. The ambient heat method works perfectly well however so no harm done.

Great heating product for basement
I was in the process of remodeling my basement and wanted supplemental heat. I researched radiant floor heat and found the Environ II to be perfect for my needs. Its the only one I found to work under carpet without having to build a sub floor (thus making the space between the ceiling and the floor shorter) for hot water pipes. The mats were super easy to install and work fantastic. I could have probably have saved some money on the ductwork for my central heat and used this as the only heat source but I found your website too late. There's nothing like a warm floor!!!

Works well but some issues with the plugs
It worked well, but I had a frustrating time arranging to plug it in. The outlet is nearby, but has a lift-up lid that protects it when not in use. The huge box attached to the plug made it impossible to plug in, as the three prong plug is oriented badly for the space. I eventually got an extension cord meant to be used indoors for an air conditioner to link it to the outlet. All winter there was a huge tangle of cords and plugs exposed to the rain. I'm sure you can do better.

I just love my bathroom floor. Please be sure to WATCH your installer when they put down the flooring. I had my design like I wanted it and the contractor started just putting it down with no concern about the pattern. I caught and corrected most of it, however, the floor beside my toilet is warm and the floor under my make-up table isn't! We just love to walk into the bath on a cold morning. My dog seems to like it there also. I appreciate the help I got from WarmlyYours.

Works very well. Fairly easy installation. Information about heating area ie: how far from the edges will the mats heat, how to avoid cold spots and the effect of circulating air on the heating ability of the mats should be included. I found I had some cold spots in the middle of the floor and that when the bathroom window is open the floor cools rapidly. Otherwise it's really nice to have a warm tile floor.
