Hello and welcome to today's video. We're going to be talking about the cable kit with the nTrust 2.0 non-programmable thermostat and the grip strips. You can discover a perfect blend of affordability, design flexibility, and ease of installation with this WarmlyYours cable kit. When paired with the nTrust 2.0 thermostat, which is non-programmable, it becomes the ideal solution for adding radiant heating to any room in your home. Additionally, it features a circuit check that will help ensure a problem-free installation.

So, what is included in the kit? The first item is the TempZone cable, which comes packaged in a box along with the installation instructions. It is crucial to read these instructions carefully, so please do not discard them. Inside the box, you will find the heating cable along with a non-heating lead. This product is available in both 120 volt and 240 volt options; for instance, the yellow sticker indicates that this particular unit is 120 volt. The cable is designed to provide even heat distribution across your floor and can be installed at various widths or spacings.

It is important to note that you cannot cut the heating cable; you must use the entire length. Therefore, you need to purchase the correct size to fit your space, as it cannot be adjusted post-installation. The cable can cover areas ranging from 10 square feet to 288 square feet, available in 15 different sizes to suit your specific project. Additionally, the cable is only 3/16 of an inch thick, which means it will not significantly raise the height of your floor. In fact, it will be embedded in about 3/8 of an inch of thinset, ensuring minimal impact on your flooring height.

On the non-heating lead, you will notice the transition point to the heating portion, which includes a factory splice. This splice must also be embedded in thinset or self-leveling compound. The cable features a twin conductor wire and comes with an extra backup floor sensor attached to the cold lead, which is 15 feet long. This sensor allows for the installation of two sensors in the floor while only connecting one at a time, helping you effectively regulate the floor temperature in your installation.

Next, let’s discuss the grip strip, which comes in one-foot portions. This component allows for precise cable spacing, whether you choose three, four, or five-inch intervals. Maintaining uniform spacing is essential; placing cables too close together can create hot spots, while spacing them too far apart can result in cooler areas. To achieve even heating, you should install the grip strips on either side of the room and run the cable back and forth between them. The grip strips are designed to hold the cable in place, preventing it from loosening during installation.

Installation is straightforward, as the grip strips feature three holes for nails or screws. Made from plastic, they are a safer alternative to metal straps, which can potentially damage the cable if not used correctly. This high-quality plastic grip strip ensures effective heating in your system.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the nTrust 2.0 non-programmable thermostat. Inside the box, you will find the thermostat itself, installation screws, an installation box, and additional instructions, along with your floor sensor. This setup allows you to install both floor sensors, providing redundancy for your heating system. It’s important to understand that this thermostat requires a 120-volt supply; you cannot connect it to a 240-volt source and expect it to function correctly. Therefore, ensure that the heating product is on the same voltage circuit for reliable operation.

The nTrust 2.0 thermostat also includes a built-in GFCI, eliminating the need for a separate GFCI circuit breaker. As a non-programmable thermostat, it allows you to set your desired temperature and forget about it. The bright, user-friendly touchscreen makes setup easy, and once programmed, it will maintain your chosen temperature indefinitely. If you purchase the thermostat separately, it can also be used with older systems that lack sensors, thanks to its regulator mode.

The thermostat comes with a setup wizard, a three-year limited warranty, and lifetime technical assistance. Now, let’s look at the circuit check, which is included in the kit. This device is designed to alert you immediately if there is a problem with your floor heating element. It will notify you of any shorts or open circuits, prompting you to investigate the issue right away. While it provides real-time feedback, it is not a substitute for a digital ohmmeter, which you will need to obtain separately.

The circuit check also comes with instructions and wiring information, guiding you on how to connect the product to your electrical circuit. We recommend that a qualified electrician handle this part of the installation. The cable kit includes a 25-year no-nonsense warranty on the heating element, ensuring that if it fails due to manufacturing defects, it will be replaced at no cost to you, including any flooring installed over it. Additionally, the thermostat is backed by a three-year warranty and comes with 24/7 tech support.

If you would like assistance with the layout design for your floor heating system, we are happy to provide that as well. This comprehensive kit ensures a hassle-free installation and reliable, energy-efficient heating for your home. Thank you for joining us today, and we look forward to seeing you next time.
