Laminate flooring can warp, cup, or gap if exposed to temperatures above 85°F.

R-Value Requirements

Total ≤1.0

R-value measures insulation resistance. For radiant heating to work efficiently, total flooring R-value must be ≤1.0.

Laminate R-Values:

Standard laminate (8–12mm): R-0.4 to R-0.6
Underlayment (foam/cork): R-0.2 to R-0.4
Total: R-0.6 to R-1.0 (ideal for radiant heating)
