For this video, we're going to cover programming the Inspiration Series touch screen thermostats. Let's say that you want to change the schedule or the temperatures during the schedule to better suit your personal preferences. A program is built in already, as detailed in your documentation, but if you wish to modify it, the easiest method is to navigate to the heating schedule section. From there, select "view, edit schedule." This is where you can choose the time the heating system activates in the morning, the time it shifts to a cooler temperature, the desired temperature when you return home, and finally, the temperature you prefer while you sleep.
At the bottom of the screen, you will see options for different days of the week, starting with Monday. You can easily change the day by pressing the corresponding button. For this example, let's set the schedule for Monday and apply it to the entire week. If you prefer the heating to start at 6 a.m., you might want to set it to a warmer temperature, typically around 82 degrees. This temperature refers to the floor itself, not the ambient air temperature. So, I will set it to 82 degrees for 6 a.m.
Next, at 9 a.m., I want the temperature to drop to a slightly higher setting, as a colder floor reading will prolong the time it takes for the next heating session to warm up. I will adjust this to 70 degrees and press OK. Now, we have the system programmed to heat the floor to 82 degrees at 6 a.m. and then lower it to 70 degrees at 9 a.m. The next time slots are grayed out, but at 5 p.m., I want the floor temperature to return to 82 degrees. Again, you can set this to whatever you prefer, keeping in mind that this is the floor temperature.
Overnight, I would like the temperature to decrease but not too much, so I will set it to 70 degrees. Pressing OK confirms these settings. Now, we have the system programmed to activate at 6 a.m. on Monday, reaching 82 degrees, cooling off to 70 degrees at 9 a.m., and then returning to 82 degrees at 5 p.m. Finally, it will drop to 70 degrees at 11 p.m. To apply this schedule to the entire week, I will press the "copy to" button. This allows me to select the days of the week I want to apply the same settings to, so I will choose Monday through Friday for my workday setup and save it.
If you want to adjust Saturday's settings, you can do so by entering the schedule for that day. For instance, you might want to keep the heating on all day. If you wish to change the temperature from 70 degrees, I will adjust the floor temperature back up to 82 degrees, as that is what we are accustomed to. Remember, you can set this temperature to whatever you prefer, but if you have carpet or laminate flooring, please refer to the specific instructions for those materials, as they will outline the maximum temperature limits. Following these guidelines will ensure optimal performance from your new touchscreen units.
