Roof and Gutter Deicing Accessories
A complete roof and gutter deicing installation needs four things besides the heating cable: a power connection kit to energize the run and seal its end, aluminum clips to hold the cable to the roof, double-sided gutter pads to bond those clips down, and a control to switch the system on. WarmlyYours stocks all of them, so one order covers the whole job.
Mounting hardware does most of the work. Aluminum 3-prong clips attach the cable to asphalt shingle and metal roofs, and 3" x 2" VHB gutter pads bond those clips to the roof or gutter — with ET-94-PRIMER where rubber, EPDM, or another slick surface resists adhesion. Switching is handled separately by roof deicing thermostats and controls. The automatic models pair with temperature and moisture sensors so the cable runs only when ice is actually forming.
Keep a repair kit on hand as well. Ours includes pre-cut heat shrink tubing along with connectors and high-conductive grounding tape — enough to fix a nick or cut in the wiring during installation instead of starting the run over. Ordering your accessories with the system is the simplest part of preparing your radiant heating system for winter.

Frequently Asked Questions

WarmlyYours self-regulating cable is suitable for use on standard asphalt or wood shingles, angled cedar, tile or terra cotta, slate, flat membrane-type (rubber or EPDM) roofing, and metal roofing. For attaching, the same clips are used for both slate and cedar roofing. Always check local codes for approved methods of heating roofs and gutters.
WarmlyYours does not recommend installing de-icing systems on ribbed metal roofs. Ribbed and corrugated panel designs typically lack the flat surface area required to properly adhere standard mounting pads and clips. Without a flush mounting surface, heating cables cannot be safely secured to the roof structure. Always evaluate your roof profile and material compatibility before purchasing your de-icing cable.
