Yes. The non-heating cold leads may be shortened as permitted by the instructions for the exact TempZone or Environ product. The heating cable itself must not be cut or shortened.
- The TempZone Flex Roll manual permits shortening its cold lead.
- The TempZone Cable manual permits trimming excess cold lead and recommends leaving 12 inches extending from the thermostat box for the connection.
- The Environ sell sheet explicitly permits shortening only the non-heating cold leads, not the warming roll or heating wire.
Have a qualified electrician make electrical connections in accordance with the product instructions and applicable codes. Keep the heating cable and factory connection intact.
