If you need to work around an object or navigate a tricky corner, you have the option to use a freeform installation method. Freeform spaces are filled with loose lengths of heating element, allowing for greater flexibility in your layout. On the installation plan, a wavy line with an arrow will indicate the area that needs to be filled. This symbol is accompanied by a unit of measure enclosed in a circle, which specifies the amount of fiberglass mesh that needs to be removed.
Once you have identified the area, begin by trimming the tape and separating the heating element. After removing the necessary fiberglass mesh, position the heating element by hand, ensuring it fits snugly in the designated space. To secure it to the floor, you can use hot glue or tape, which will help maintain its position during the installation process.
It is important to try to maintain a spacing of approximately three inches between the heating elements, similar to the spacing found on the heating roll.
