Protect shingles and cable during installation

Plan the cable route and attachment spacing before working on the roof. Use the specified clips and accessories rather than driving nails or staples through the cable. Do not improvise attachments that compromise the roof covering or its warranty.

Fixed-length plug-in cable must not be shortened, crossed, or overlapped. Follow the applicable minimum bend radius and spacing instructions. Self-regulating cable has different rules, so permission for one product must not be carried over to another.

Inspect before winter

Check for damaged cable jackets, loose attachments, debris, and changes caused by roof repairs. Have the system’s electrical protection tested as instructed. Disconnect damaged equipment and have it assessed before using it again. Avoid installation or inspection work on an icy roof.
