Continuity test points for the switch shown in the attached service illustration.
The attached illustration identifies two switch contacts: C (Common) and NO (Normally Open). On the pictured switch, the black wire connects to C and a white wire connects to NO. Use the molded terminal markings and exact service diagram; wire colors alone do not identify terminals on every switch.
A qualified service technician should disconnect power, verify the unit is de-energized and isolate the switch contacts from the rest of the circuit before checking continuity. Never use a continuity or resistance setting on an energized circuit.
- Switch depressed, ON: continuity between C and NO.
- Switch released, OFF: no continuity between C and NO.
This test checks the contact behavior shown in the illustration. A passing result does not establish that the supply, heating element or remaining wiring is working. A failed result requires the correct approved replacement switch and professional reassembly; do not bypass the switch or thermal protection.
