Hello, I'm Scott from WarmlyYours, and today we're going to be installing a dual connection towel warmer. Let's get started. Make sure that you don't throw the box away because you'll need it a little bit later.
Alright, we've taken the towel warmer out of the bag and we can see what's inside. We have our parts kit, our installation manual, and our line cord. Also, while you're doing this, make sure that you remove all four end caps that are on the towel warmer. Now that we have the parts kit ready to open up, please take note that this towel warmer is set up to be installed as a plug-in unit out of the box. If you want to turn it into a hardwired unit, we'll need to do some additional work.
If we take a look, we can see one of the legs here. There's a total of four legs. Let's go ahead and open up our parts kit, and here we can see the other three legs.
We have the leg covers that cover the holes where it mounts to the wall, and then we have our mounting hardware. All right, we've installed our power leg at this point. Now it's time to install the other three. The other three legs install exactly like this one, so we can show you that right now. To do this, you're going to need the Allen wrench, the leg, and the Allen socket screw.
Now, please notice on this leg, you want the set screw hole to be facing downward. You'll need to get this in here.
I have the Allen wrench and the screw, and the hole for our set screw is facing downward. Now it's time to attach it to the towel warmer.
Okay, now that we've cut the box to make our template, we're almost there. We have our legs on. All we need to do is flip this over, and when we do, we need to make sure that we mark which end is up.
So when we put it on the wall, we can get it oriented correctly.
Make note of the up position so you can mark it on the template. Now we need to mark the location of the legs on the back of the cardboard box. Since we've marked the position of one, we're going to mark the other three.
Now that we've made our four marks, it's time to make the "up" position visible on the cardboard box template. We've made our four marks for the legs, and we've also marked the center of those holes using a tape measure and a level; that will be the spot we mark on the wall. All right, now we have our four mounting spots located on our template. We've also marked the center of the hole because that's where our mark is going to go on the wall, and we're going to use this template to figure out where we want to put it on the wall itself. The idea here is to try to get the left two mounting spots into a stud if you can.
If you cannot, we have four mounting anchors that can go into the wall, allowing you to mount it anywhere that works for you. All right, now we've got it in the area we want, and we've tried to line it up with a stud on the left side. Let's go ahead and make our first mark with tape on the wall, and then we will use that to move it left or right to make sure it's level. I can see that my left side is set, so now I need to move the right side up or down to get it level.
Now I have a perfect level, and I can put the tape on the wall. All right, we've made our four holes. Now it's time to remove the template, doing so very carefully to not pull any paint off. There are our four spots.
Here we can see the hardware we'll need for the wall brackets. The brackets will be mounted onto the wall, and our towel warmer will be mounted onto them. You can see we have four screws, four wall anchors, and three brackets that are identical, plus one that's different. The different one is used for the power leg. We'll go ahead and put those on the wall right now.
Before we mount the towel warmer on the wall, we need to put the collars on, and that's done fairly easily, just like that. The next step is to get the set screws just barely started.
Now that we've put our collars on and put the set screws in the legs, it's time to mount the towel warmer.
Now that we have the towel warmer mounted on the wall, it's time to take inventory of what's left to do. We have some stickers to remove here and here, and also a hang tag that needs to be removed. One thing that a lot of people don't realize is there is an on/off switch at the bottom of the towel warmer.
So please note, if your towel warmer does not turn on or does not get warm the first time you power it up, you have to remember to press the power switch. Once you know the power switch is there, you can then remove the label.
