The installation required a "cut-and-turn" layout plan to cover 258 heated square feet. By combining Environ™ Easy Mats (for large rectangular areas) and Environ™ Flex Rolls (for tighter spaces), the installer achieved optimal coverage without raising the floor height significantly.
Crucially, CeraZorb® Insulating Cork Underlayment was installed beneath the heating elements. This serves a dual purpose: it prevents heat from escaping into the subfloor (increasing energy efficiency) and provides acoustic dampening, making the laminate sound and feel more like solid hardwood.
The Outcome The result is a master suite that offers consistent, silent, and invisible luxury. The electric floor heating system works gently beneath the floating floor to radiate warmth upward, ensuring that the room remains cozy from the ground up, regardless of the Illinois weather outside.
