Check the selected FLOR style and the complete heated-floor assembly.
FLOR’s current FAQ says current FLOR styles can be installed over radiant-heated floors. Its installation manual cautions that certain products are not recommended and directs customers to confirm compatibility for the selected product. The old statement that all FLOR products are unsuitable is therefore too broad.
FLOR requires a suitable flat, solid indoor surface. Do not install its tiles over carpet padding or other soft flooring. For electric heat, use a fully embedded heating assembly permitted by the heater and selected FLOR product; do not lay exposed cable or a loose heating mat directly beneath the carpet tiles.
Before specifying the floor, confirm the exact style’s thermal resistance, temperature limit and suitability for the planned electric-heating assembly. A general radiant-heat allowance does not establish those details. FLOR Customer Care is available at (866) 281-3567 for product identification.
