Today, we're going to discuss sensor placement when installing Environnn 2 panels. If you examine the Environnn 2 panel, you'll notice the raised areas where my fingers are positioned; this is where the heating wire is located, nestled between the aluminum open area. The objective is to position the sensor head midway between each heating wire. According to the installation manual, you can simply tape the sensor to the top or underneath in the same location. However, we have discovered a slightly more efficient method that yields better heating results.
To achieve optimal placement, locate a point approximately six inches into the mat. It's essential to ensure that the sensor head is positioned correctly at this point. Begin by marking this location with your finger. Next, we recommend removing a small section of the carpet pad, roughly the size of a quarter. Verify that this area is situated between one of the two runs of cable. Once confirmed, you can either place the sensor head directly into the hole or, if you're near the edge of the wall, insert the sensor and run the cable beneath the pad.
If you choose to run the cable under the pad, you can secure it in place with tape as it enters the hole. Additionally, use a piece of tape to hold the sensor in position. This approach will ensure that when you lay down the mat, it rests in the middle of the designated area. Once this is accomplished, you can pull your carpet over that section, confident that you will achieve an accurate temperature reading in that spot.
