Hello and thank you for joining today's webinar, "Why and How to Install a WarmlyYours Towel Warmer," hosted by WarmlyYours Radiant Heating. I'm your moderator, Scott Rosenbaum, and I'm going to take the next 20 minutes or so to discuss the benefits of towel warmers and guide you through the installation process step by step.
What are the benefits of towel warmers? First and foremost, they are easy to install, heat up quickly and evenly, and come with an unbeatable warranty. Towel warmers offer affordable luxury and can serve as supplemental heating sources for bathrooms. All WarmlyYours towel warmers operate on 120 volts and include a two-year manufacturer warranty. Additionally, all WarmlyYours towel warmers are CUL/US listed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Let’s take a look at the towel warmer collection. Our range includes the Barcelona, Sierra, Studio, Metropolitan, Riviera, Elements, and Infinity models. These towel warmers come in various finishes, including brushed stainless steel, polished stainless steel, and polished chrome.
Now, let's delve into the installation of the towel warmers. You won’t need many materials for this fairly simple operation. Essential items include the towel warmer itself, a control unit, and/or other accessories that will be installed alongside it. Additionally, you will need a pencil, screwdriver, power drill, level, and tape measure.
The first step in the installation process is to create a template. Attach the brackets into the recommended position on the towel warmer, which can be found in the hardware kit box. Place the towel warmer on a flat surface, such as a large sheet of paper or cardboard, with the brackets facing downwards. At this point, mark the locations of the brackets on your template.
Next, use the template and level as a guide to mark the wall with the correct locations of the brackets. Ensure that two of the brackets are aligned with a wall stud, ideally on the left side, as this provides the best support. It is crucial to confirm that all anchor points are clear of existing electrical or mechanical systems to avoid any accidents while drilling.
Once the wall is marked, drill holes at the marked locations and install the brackets into the wall. Use the drywall anchors provided for any brackets that will not be installed into a stud, which will likely be the two on the right. Adjust the towel warmer to your desired position and fully tighten the screws into place.
The next step is to connect the towel warmer to power. We recommend that this be done by a licensed local electrician to ensure compliance with local electrical codes. The electrician will hardwire the towel warmer into a GFCI-protected 120-volt electrical circuit. For plug-in models, the process is much simpler; you simply plug it into a 120-volt outlet, and it is ready to use.
If you have a wired unit, it will come with the Honeywell EconoSwitch, an elegant switch that features a backlight for easy visibility and programming. This 120-volt switch can handle up to 1800 watts or 15 amps, but you need not worry, as the system will only pull about 150 watts, which is just over 1 amp. The EconoSwitch allows for weekly and daily programming and can be set to operate in manual mode or function as a simple on/off switch.
For plug-in models, you can connect the towel warmer via an app on a mobile device, compatible with Android 4.0 or iOS 5 or higher, using the Belkin Wemo switch. This allows for remote operation and scheduling, enabling you to set it to turn on when the sun rises and off when it sets, or any other trigger you prefer.
Now, let’s watch a quick video demonstrating how to install the towel warmer onto the wall. The first step is to ensure you have the correct model that you ordered. In our example, we have the Riviera Towel Warmer. Carefully remove the towel warmer from the box, along with the installation instructions, which you should keep for reference.
After unpacking, place the towel warmer upside down on a table, ideally with a protective surface to prevent scratches. Inside the box, you will find the necessary installation hardware, including the cover plate for the electrical wires, anchors, and screws. Before proceeding, assemble the mounting legs onto the towel warmer to determine where to mark your template.
With the towel warmer out of its protective bag, make four marks around the legs to use as a template. Once marked, attach the electrical tube and make the final mark for where the electrical connection will enter the wall. Choose a suitable location on the wall, keeping in mind the height for the electrical box. Ideally, the mounting holes should align with two wall studs for optimal support.
After marking the wall, ensure the towel warmer is level before drilling. Use a pencil to mark the locations for drilling based on the template. Remove the template carefully to avoid damaging the wall paint, and then start drilling at the marked locations.
Now, take the parts from the kit and begin mounting the brackets on the wall. Insert screws into the connectors and attach them to the wall, ensuring that the screws are not tightened fully until everything is aligned. This allows for adjustments as needed.
After securing the mounting brackets, attach the legs to the towel warmer. Be cautious to do this on a soft surface to prevent scratches. Once the legs are attached, guide the electrical wires into the tube and thread it onto the towel warmer.
With the legs mounted, position the towel warmer under the studs, ensuring everything aligns correctly. Once confirmed, tighten the screws fully. Next, remove the gray opaque plastic covering from the wall plate to reveal the stainless steel underneath. Align the wall plate with the box and secure it in place.
Finally, secure the towel warmer using the set screws and Allen wrench provided. This will hold the tubes in place with pressure. At this point, the towel warmer should be securely mounted on the wall, and you can see how straightforward the installation process is when following the steps in the manual.
Please remember that the electrical connections should be handled by a qualified electrician to ensure safety and compliance with local codes. If you need to change the electrical mounting point, you can rotate the towel warmer, but be aware that this may expose the power connection at the top, which some users may find undesirable.

One frequently asked question is whether they can be mounted in a shower or a doorless shower. According to the National Electric Code, this is not permitted, but always check with your local code official for specific regulations regarding towel warmer installation in bathrooms.
Another common question is whether the towel warmer can be left on 24/7. The answer is yes; you can keep it on continuously if you prefer warm towels at all times. The towel warmer typically warms up within 30 to 45 minutes, reaching its maximum temperature. To optimize usage, consider setting a timer to turn it on an hour before you need it and off an hour after use. However, be cautious not to overload the towel warmer; we recommend a maximum of two towels if running continuously.
Can the temperature of a towel warmer be adjusted? Unfortunately, no; the unit does not allow for temperature control. It features an over-temperature control to prevent overheating, but it operates simply as an on/off system without high, medium, or low settings.
Lastly, regarding Wi-Fi connectivity, yes, you can connect the towel warmer using the Wemo switch for remote control via your smartphone. While you can replace the timer with a light switch, we do not recommend using a dimmer switch, as the unit should be connected to a GFCI-protected circuit.
