Don’t forget: every webinar attendee will be registered to win a free nSpire Touch WiFi floor heating thermostat!

Hello everybody and thank you for joining us for our live webinar. I'm your host, Scott Rosenbaum. Today we'll be talking about how to replace an existing floor heating thermostat with a brand new WarmlyYours Inspiration Series Thermostat. You don't have to break your wall or expend a lot of time. You just have to follow the steps we will describe and keep your loved ones warm and cozy. You can submit your questions at any time during the webinar by using the Q&A function located on the right-hand side of your screen, as indicated by the blue circle. We'll answer these questions at the end of the session.

For those who didn't attend our last webinar, the Inspiration line is the new addition to the WarmlyYours family. With winter approaching, we need to be ready. We created this series of controls to be your best friend at home when it's freezing outside. The good news is that you can find options for all types of personalities and routines, from programmable models to controls that allow you to easily monitor and manage your home comfort remotely from any device. All of our controls are designed to help you get the most out of your floor heating system.

Here are our new thermostats. The Inspire Touch Wi-Fi is a perfect fit if you have a busy schedule. It allows you to control your heating system in person with the touchscreen or remotely with your smartphone or via the web, which translates into huge energy savings without sacrificing comfort. The nSpire Touch comes with a stunning and functional 3.5-inch touchscreen, making this model great for applications where there will be frequent adjustments to the temperature or thermostat's schedule, such as in a home office or rec room. The features are very similar to the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi, just without the Wi-Fi functionality.

The nTrust is ideal for high-traffic rooms like the living room, where you want to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the day. This non-programmable nTrust thermostat delivers both ease and reliability. The enhanced thermostat, as we see here, is the perfect combination of style and convenience. This programmable thermostat will deliver maximum comfort when you need it most, like during your morning routine, while still keeping your overall energy use effective and minimal. Finally, we take a look at the EnJoYn, a power module that links up with any of the Inspiration thermostats to help increase the electrical output in 15 amp increments. This makes it possible to control heating systems for large rooms, like basements, with a single thermostat.

Our new controls are compatible with a wide range of floor sensors, which is why it's so easy to replace your old thermostat with an Inspiration control. The next video will walk you through the entire process from start to finish. Please send all of your questions about the video or our thermostats using the Q&A function, and we'll be here to answer your questions at the end of the video.

Now, let's discuss the installation process for replacing your old thermostat with the new Inspiration Series Thermostat. The first step is to turn off the circuit breaker. Once the circuit breaker is off, loosen the screw on the faceplate of the old unit and remove it to access the screws holding the base in the wall. The next step is to take out the base and mark the location of the wires, as you'll need to transfer them to the new unit. Disconnect the connections and prepare them for the new thermostat.

Looking at the back of the thermostat, you will see four wires. If your thermostat has stickers indicating "floor," that will guide you. If not, refer to the base where the two middle wires represent the load going to the floor. Mark these wires accordingly. I have tape marked "line" and "load" to ensure I transfer the wires to the correct spots on the new thermostat. Loosen the screws without removing them completely, as they will stop turning naturally. Do not force them, as this will allow you to get the wire down beneath the metal bracket under the screw.

Next, flip the unit upside down to remove the plastic piece, revealing where the load and line wires attach. Ensure that the line wires come in snugly under the metal bracket. Now, we will connect the floor wires. These wires can be run through the designated area, ensuring they come out in the same direction. Notice the barrier that prevents the wires from touching any exposed wiring. Straighten the wires from the previous connection and attach them under the load. The mat has no polarity, so it does not matter which wire goes where, but for consistency, we will connect them in a standard way.

Tighten the connections carefully, ensuring that the metal bracket does not press down on the plastic insulation. You want just a small amount of wire visible as you tighten, as pressing down on the insulation can lead to poor or intermittent connections. The ground wire should be attached to a ground screw inside the box, which is likely already connected. Once all connections are made, place the plastic cap over the back until it snaps in place.

Before mounting the thermostat, we need to connect the sensor wire to the new unit. After removing it from the old unit, you will see four connection spots labeled A, B, C, and D. For the sensor connection, it does not matter which wire goes into C or D, as there is no polarity. Ensure the cable is fed through the base of the unit and that the wires are tight. Once everything is secure, the cable can be fed out through the hole, and the base can be mounted back into the wall.

With the base of the thermostat squared up and plumb, we can insert the screws and make any final adjustments before tightening them fully. If satisfied with the alignment, we will proceed to put the faceplate on. Regardless of which model of thermostat you have from the Inspiration line, the same base applies to each unit. Be cautious of the GFI test button when attaching the faceplate; ensure it is centered over the switch before tightening the screw.

Now that the thermostat is hooked up, all that remains is to turn the circuit breaker back on to power the thermostat. During the registration process, we received a question about how the new thermostats differ from previous models. At WarmlyYours, we continually strive to improve our products, and the Inspiration Series offers many benefits, including intuitive operation and a sleek design. One significant advantage is compatibility with the EnJoYn Power Module, which allows for increased electrical output in 15 amp increments. This is especially useful for larger applications that require more power than a single thermostat can provide.

Previous systems typically required multiple power modules in addition to a master thermostat, regardless of whether the extra capacity was needed. With the EnJoYn, you can use a single power module for projects requiring 15 amps or less, leading to significant savings in time and materials. Customers also frequently inquire about whether these thermostats have the same connections as previous models. The previous floor heating thermostats used wire nut connections, while the Inspiration Series employs screw-down connections, saving space inside the junction box and reducing the risk of overheating.

Another question we received was about the child lock feature. Yes, the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi, the Inspire Touch, and the nHance all come equipped with a child lock feature. For both touchscreen controls, the child lock activates with a screen saver, dimming the display after 15 seconds and starting the screen saver after two minutes.

Debra asked if there is a special app to control the thermostat and whether it can be integrated with other systems like Lutron Homeworks. If you have a touch Wi-Fi unit, it operates as a standalone Wi-Fi unit and does not integrate with other home automation systems. We have other thermostats that can act as temperature regulators within your existing system. For more specific inquiries, we encourage you to contact us directly.

Chris asked if the new thermostats are compatible with older TempZone mats. Yes, the thermostats allow you to select the type of thermostat you currently have, whether it's an old OJ controller or an old Honeywell system. The thermostats we are selling now are fully compatible with older units and sensors in the floor, which is great news.
