Hello and thank you for joining us for our live webinar, "How to Program Your Inspiration Series Thermostat." I'm your host, Scott Rosenbaum, Technical Support and Engineering Manager at WarmlyYours. Today, we'll be discussing how easy it is to customize your comfort by programming your floor heating thermostat. If you have any questions at any point during this webinar, please submit them using the Q&A function located on the left-hand side of your screen. We will answer all questions by the end of the session.

Let's begin by discussing why someone would want to program their floor heating thermostat. The simple answer is customization. Everyone has different preferences, homes, and lifestyles, and we are always happiest when our home reflects our individual comfort. However, achieving this level of comfort often comes at a high price. Choosing the right thermostat allows you to fully utilize the energy efficiency of electric floor heating, which translates to lower costs and higher comfort levels. WarmlyYours launched our new Inspiration Series in October 2016, and since then, the response from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive. The Inspiration Series includes the nTrust non-programmable thermostat and the nHance programmable thermostat, but today we will focus on two of our most popular models: the Inspiration Touch and the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi. In fact, over 80% of sales for the Inspiration Series have been for these two models.

As you may have guessed from their names, the primary difference between the two is that the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi features Wi-Fi capabilities. This allows for remote control via a smartphone or a computer. Despite this difference, both models share several features, including a sleek design and a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. Additionally, both the nSpire Touch and the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi come equipped with an easy-to-use startup wizard that activates automatically when you turn on your thermostat for the first time. In a moment, we will watch a brief video walkthrough, after which we will address any questions you may have.

In this video, we will cover how to turn on your thermostat for the first time and how to program it for use. The first thing the touch thermostat will ask you is to select your language. You will notice that the display auto-dims after a few seconds of inactivity, but you can easily restore brightness by touching the screen again. After selecting English, you will proceed to a system test, which will run automatically. If the thermostat does not detect a floor sensor, it will notify you accordingly. The next step is to conduct a ground fault test using the button located at the top of the thermostat. When pressed, a light should illuminate on the side, indicating that the ground fault detection is functioning correctly.

Next, you will set the temperature unit to Fahrenheit for the U.S. or Celsius for Canada. The floor load setting is where you inform the thermostat of the wattage of your system, which is indicated on the label of the roll or mat you purchased. You can enter this value using the up and down keys, but if you do not have it on hand, you can continue and set this later. The sensor type defaults to the 10-kilo-ohm version, which is the standard included in the box. If you are replacing an older OJ thermostat, you may need to switch it to the 12-kilo-ohm setting.

You will then set the date and time using the up and down keys for the month, day, and year. The default format is month, day, and year, which is commonly used in North America. After setting the date, you will configure the time, choosing between AM and PM or a 24-hour format if preferred. The thermostat will default to laminate flooring, which is the lowest temperature setting. If you are installing it for a tile floor, which is common among floor heating users, you will select tile and proceed to the next step, where the thermostat will begin heating the floor.

We have just watched the walkthrough of the Startup Wizard for the nSpire Touch. There are a couple of significant differences when running the Startup Wizard for the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi. After selecting your preferred temperature unit, you will be prompted to provide a Distributor ID number, which can be found on stickers attached to both your thermostat and your SmartPlan box. Alternatively, you can contact us at 800-875-5285, and we will be happy to provide you with the Distributor ID number. Another difference is that the Wi-Fi unit will automatically detect the load of your floor, meaning it will determine the wattage your floor is pulling without requiring you to enter that information during setup.

Now is a good time to check if there are any questions about the Startup Wizard. Please submit them using the Q&A function on the left-hand side of the screen. While we wait, let's address some questions we received during the registration process. One common question is how to change from Fahrenheit to Celsius. As you saw in the walkthrough, this option is built into the Startup Wizard. If you miss it, you can change the preferred temperature readout later by going to user settings from the main menu, selecting unit, and then choosing either Fahrenheit or Celsius before hitting the check mark to save your change.

Another question we received is whether there is a child lock feature for the thermostats. The answer is yes; both the nSpire Touch and the nSpire Touch Wi-Fi include a child lock function. To activate it, go to user settings from the main menu, select child lock, turn it on, and hit the check mark to save. Once activated, the thermostat will display a screensaver. To unlock it, tap the screen to wake it up, and then draw an uninterrupted "L" connecting three dots displayed on the screen. Start from the upper left corner and finish at the lower right corner.

A third question we received during the sign-up process is whether these thermostats come in other colors. Currently, they are only available in white, but we expect to offer them in black later this year. Additionally, many users ask if these thermostats are easy to swap in for existing floor heating thermostats. Yes, the Inspiration Series models are designed for drop-in replacement with minimal effort required. They are also compatible with a wide range of floor sensors, making them suitable for almost any pre-existing floor heating system. We have a helpful video titled "Upgrading to a New Inspiration Series Floor Heating Thermostat," which you can find in our video library under the Learn tab on our website.

It appears we have addressed all the questions for now, so we will move on to setting up a schedule. All programmable Inspiration Series thermostats come with a pre-programmed schedule, but there are two additional options if you wish to customize your thermostat's schedule. You can either use our smart preset programming service or set it up manually. To take advantage of our smart preset thermostat programming service, simply select it when purchasing your thermostat. You will fill out a quick questionnaire about your schedule, and a trained professional will ensure your thermostat is set up according to your preferences before it leaves our warehouse.

In just a moment, we will watch another brief walkthrough on programming the Inspiration Series touchscreen thermostats. If you have any questions, please submit them using the Q&A function, and we will address them after the video. This video will cover how to change the schedule or the temperatures during the schedule to suit your personal preferences. The built-in program is available in your documentation, but if you wish to modify it, go to the upper right corner of the screen and press the three lines to access the heating schedule. Here, you can view and edit the schedule.

You will be able to choose the time for the thermostat to turn on in the morning, the time to lower the temperature, the desired temperature when you return home, and the temperature for overnight. The interface allows you to change the settings for different days of the week easily. For example, if you want the floor temperature to be 82 degrees at 6 a.m., you can set that and then adjust the temperature to 70 degrees at 9 a.m. for the cooler period. You can also set it to return to 82 degrees at 5 p.m. and drop to 70 degrees overnight.

Once you have configured the schedule for Monday, you can copy it to the rest of the week by pressing the "copy to" button. This allows you to apply the same settings for Tuesday through Friday. If you want to adjust the schedule for Saturday, you can do so by modifying the temperature settings as needed. Remember to consult the instructions for any limitations regarding carpet or laminate flooring, as they will specify the maximum temperature settings.

We have received a question from Elizabeth regarding a blank screensaver option to prevent the readout from being constantly lit. The answer is yes; after about 15 seconds of inactivity, the display will dim and can be adjusted for brightness in the settings menu, allowing you to find a level that is comfortable for you.
