Hello out there. Welcome to our webinar. Today we're going to be talking about getting the spa bathroom experience with radiant heating. My name is Julia Billan, and I am the owner and chief bottle washer here at WarmlyYours. We are celebrating 20 years in business since this past April.
I'm Scott from WarmlyYours. How are you doing, everybody? Thanks for joining us today. I'm the manager of tech support here at WarmlyYours, so if you've ever called us, there's a pretty good chance that you've spoken with me. Throughout this whole webinar, we want this to be very engaging, so please ask us your questions. We're going to be discussing a variety of products today, including radiant heating, floor heating, radiant panels, towel warmers, mirror defoggers, and LED mirrors.
The bathroom is a personal space where many people seek solitude, making it a prime area for remodeling. It's probably the top place that people choose to renovate, alongside kitchens. To create that spa-like experience, we want to focus on elements that provide comfort and relaxation. This includes calming ambiance, the right lighting, and, of course, warmth. Standalone tubs and walk-in showers can enhance that experience, and modern lighting options, like adjustable makeup mirrors, are making a comeback.
Radiant heating is a key component in achieving that comfort. Unlike traditional forced air systems that heat the air, radiant heating warms the surfaces in the room. This means that when you walk into a space heated by radiant systems, you may not immediately feel hot air, but rather a comfortable warmth that envelops you as the surfaces heat up. This is particularly beneficial in bathrooms, where you want to feel cozy, especially on cold floors.
Floor heating is essential for creating that spa-like experience. Imagine stepping out of a shower or bathtub onto a warm floor, even in the summer. Many people may not realize that even in warmer climates, tile floors can feel cold. This is why floor heating is a must-have feature in bathrooms, providing year-round comfort. In colder regions, it becomes even more critical, as tile and stone floors can be uncomfortably cold during fall, winter, and spring.
When considering bathroom renovations, it's important to think about the types of flooring used. Hard surfaces like tile and stone are common due to their water resistance and ease of cleaning. However, they can be quite cold without floor heating. Additionally, with the trend of larger, curbless showers, it's essential to ensure that these areas are also heated to maintain that comfortable experience.
For those who are not remodeling but still want to enjoy warm floors, radiant panels can be an excellent solution. These panels can be mounted on walls and provide radiant heat to the entire room, including the floor. They work similarly to how the sun warms surfaces, making them an effective option for spaces where traditional heating methods may not be feasible.
Installation of radiant panels is straightforward. They can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, depending on your preference and the space available. It's important to ensure that the panel is securely attached to the wall, ideally anchored into studs for stability. For those in apartments or spaces where hardwiring isn't an option, plug-in versions are available, making it easy to add warmth without extensive electrical work.
In addition to heating the room, towel warmers are a luxurious addition that enhances the spa experience. These come in various styles and finishes, allowing you to match them with your bathroom decor. When using a towel warmer, it's best to hang towels over the top rung to ensure even heating throughout the towel. Many users keep their towel warmers on continuously for added convenience, ensuring a warm towel is always ready after a shower.
Mirror defoggers are another practical product that can enhance your bathroom experience. By wiring them to the same circuit as your bathroom lights, they heat the mirror surface, preventing fogging when you step out of the shower. This allows for a clear view every time you need to use the mirror, adding to the overall comfort of your bathroom.
LED mirrors are becoming increasingly popular for their aesthetic appeal and functionality. They provide excellent accent lighting, contributing to the spa-like ambiance. While they do not have defogging capabilities, their long lifespan and energy efficiency make them a great addition to any modern bathroom.
As we wrap up, it's important to remember that when installing any of these products, compliance with local electrical codes is crucial. Always consult with a certified electrician to ensure safety and adherence to regulations.
