nJoy: Floor protection and standby heating

Understand floor-temperature limits and why an nJoy thermostat can still heat in standby.

On the nJoy UWG5-4999, floor protection limits take priority over the requested temperature. In Floor or Room/Floor mode, the thermostat can switch heating on below the minimum floor limit and switches it off above the maximum floor limit. Room-only mode does not provide this floor-limit function.

Choose protection settings for the installed floor type and observe the flooring manufacturer’s temperature limits. The setpoint range and floor protection are separate settings; choosing a higher setpoint does not override the floor protection limit.

Standby and frost protection

Standby is an operating mode, not electrical isolation. If frost protection is enabled in the app, the thermostat can still energize the heating when the sensor reaches the minimum limit. An orange dot can remain visible while frost protection is active. Touching the screen may show a snowflake and FROST PROTECTED.

Use the app to manage frost protection. Before installation or electrical service, disconnect the heating circuit at its power supply as required by the installation instructions; a blank screen or standby icon does not establish that the circuit is de-energized.
