Lake Zurich, Ill., August, 2026 - According to a recent industry report, the second quarter of the year saw floor heating sales grow rapidly due in large part to growth with professional customers.
WarmlyYours, a radiant heating manufacturer that specializes in radiant heating products like electric floor heating and snow melting systems, released their “Q2 2026 Industry Report” earlier this week. This report analyzes the sales of radiant heating products (by using WarmlyYours sales data as a proxy for the industry as a whole) within the wider context of the national housing and remodeling markets. One of the most surprising findings in the report was that floor heating grew 14.3% in the second quarter.
The number of floor heating orders increased 4.6% while the average value of each order rose 9.3%. This shift (order value outpacing order numbers in growth rate) suggests a transition to larger floor heating projects, which is supported by the customer channels that saw the largest growth in Q2 2026.
Commercial general contractors grew sharply (up 703%) and there were significant gains in commercial design/build firms (up 384%). Beneath that commercial growth sit the segments that give the quarter its weight. Designer activity more than doubled (up 104%), and remodeling contractors posted strong gains (up 65%) from established volume levels.
Julia Billen, Owner and President of WarmlyYours, sees the growth among professional customers as a sign that floor heatingis becoming less of an afterthought and more of a deliberate part of the project specification.
“The interesting thing about this quarter is that radiant heating isn’t just sneaking into more projects—it’s getting invited to the party earlier,” said Billen. “When designers are specifying it and contractors are building it into the scope, that tells us something important: they’re seeing the value before the project ever gets to the installation stage. And once a customer experiences a properly designed heated floor, it’s pretty hard to convince them that cold tile was a better idea.”
