WarmlyYours Radiant Heating's Annual Charity Donation

There is nothing more heart warming than giving back.

Every year, WarmlyYours’ staff makes recommendations on a variety of charities they want to contribute to and then the voting begins – this time we opened it up to our Facebook fans too! The charity that receives the most votes receives a donation from WarmlyYours in the amount of $500.

The result of this year’s annual charity donation vote is…

[DRUMROLL, please]

Victory Junction Camp!

Victory Junction, nominated by WarmlyYours Account Manager, Mary Godawa, is a place where chronically or seriously ill children can come have the time of their lives and set aside medical limitations. Founded for children, in honor of Adam Petty, this camp has enriched the lives of more than 14,000 children and families since 2004, and welcomed children from 50 states and 4 countries.

The idea for Victory Junction Camp came from Adam Petty, who was a teenage stock car driver (as well as the son of veteran Kyle Petty, the grandson of seven-time champion Richard Petty, and great-grandson of three-time champion Lee Petty). On May 12, 2000, Adam Petty was killed in a crash during practice at New Hampshire International Speedway. Kyle and his wife, Pattie, carried on Adam's vision to create a camp and spent four years raising money for, and building, Victory Junction.

Victory Junction serves 24 chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses such as Cancer, Autism, Craniofacial Anomalies, Diabetes, Hemophilia, Sickle Cell and Spina Bifida. 30 hospitals partner with Victory Junction to deliver exceptional health care to campers with trained physicians and volunteers to properly care for their medical needs while attending camp.

The activities and opportunities the camp provides are endless! The children can take a leap of faith on the zip line, climb a 55 ft. adventure tower, and swim for the very first time. They can also enjoy boating, fishing, arts & crafts and horseback riding. Activities are adapted to all campers, regardless of their physical challenges.

There are many facilities, such as a swimming pool, recreational game room, computer lab, outdoor recreation area - with open space, and a medical clinic. A “superdome” was also built so that it could host indoor sporting facilities; a project that began with a $1 million seed donation from fellow NASCAR driver Kurt Busch. Other drivers, team owners, team sponsors, and NASCAR itself have given substantial donations to the camp.

Spread over 84 acres in Randleman, North Carolina, Victory Junction Camp is a huge success! There is also another location taking root on 71 acres in Kansas in the coming years!

We couldn’t be happier that our donation is going to such a wonderful cause! Giving back is the best gift of all!
