This project highlights a long-standing partnership between industry leaders. John Lang, owner of Langs Kitchen & Bath, has been a loyal WarmlyYours customer for over 18 years, consistently trusting our technology to solve the most frustrating winter challenges. By installing an electric floor heating system under this 212 sq. ft. paver path, Lang eliminated the back-breaking labor of shoveling and the corrosive damage caused by de-icing chemicals. This installation brings modern luxury and effortless safety to the home’s exterior, ensuring a clear path even during the heaviest Pennsylvania snowfalls.

John Lang - Heated Walkway Project Information
John Lang owner of Langs Kitchen & Bath was Contracted with upgrading a 212 sq. ft. paver walkway that frequently became a hazard due to ice and heavy snow accumulation. The goal was to eliminate the physical strain of manual clearing and the consistent need for salt, which can degrade the integrity and appearance of custom stonework over time.
To solve this, Langs Kitchen & Bath integrated the Snow Melt PowerMat system directly into the walkway’s sub-structure. By installing high-output electric floor heating mats beneath the pavers, the team created a permanent solution to winter weather. The system is designed to provide high-wattage heat transfer, ensuring that the surface remains at a consistent temperature to melt snow on contact and evaporate lingering moisture before it can turn into dangerous black ice.
The completed installation offers a fully automated experience. Equipped with an aerial snow sensor and an advanced control unit, the radiant floor heating activates the moment precipitation is detected in freezing temperatures. This "problem-solving" approach means the walkway remains clear and dry throughout the season without any intervention from the homeowner. This project demonstrates how in-floor heating serves as a vital functional upgrade, protecting both the home’s exterior surfaces and the people who walk on them.
Featured Products
This project utilized a complete, state-of-the-art electric radiant floor heating system for snow melting:
- Snow Melt PowerMat 240V: High-performance, pre-wired heating mats that simplify installation beneath the pavers. They are ruggedly designed for outdoor use and deliver high heat output for rapid snow melting.
- Advanced Snow and Ice Melt Control: This energy efficient heating control automatically manages the system. It uses sensor input to turn the snow melting on only when conditions require it (freezing temperatures plus precipitation), saving energy and money.
- Outdoor Snow Melting Junction Box - Large - In-Ground: A heavy-duty, rated enclosure necessary to protect the electrical connections from the harsh outdoor environment and moisture.
- Medium Relay Panel: Required to handle the high amperage (41 A) draw of the large, powerful Snow Melt PowerMat system.
