Project Information
When designing this beautiful master bathroom in Chatham, NJ, Kraftmaster Renovations aimed for a high-end finish that maximized comfort. Tile are durable and attractive floor coverings, but they are notoriously cold underfoot, especially in New Jersey winters. The homeowner wanted a comfort upgrade that addressed this problem without the noise and inefficiency of a forced-air register.
Kraftmaster Renovations selected the WarmlyYours TempZone™ Floor Heating Cable system to deliver customized electric floor heating. The flexible cable was laid over the subfloor, embedded in the tile setting material using a Prodeso Uncoupling Membrane. The membrane serves the dual purpose of protecting the floor from subfloor movement (preventing tile cracking) while providing a secure channel to hold the heating cable in place at the optimal 3.75-inch spacing for full heat coverage across the 118 sq. ft. area. The resulting system is completely concealed, maintenance-free, and delivers gentle, even floor warming from the ground up, turning a cold floor into a cozy centerpiece.

nSpire Touch Thermostat (UDG4-4999-WY): A programmable, user-friendly control that features a $3.5$” color touchscreen, a Class A GFCI, and a floor sensor to precisely manage the floor warming schedule and temperature for optimal comfort and energy efficiency.
Circuit Check (SS-01): This essential installation tool monitors the electrical resistance of the heating cable during and after installation, alerting the installer to any accidental damage to the wire, ensuring a successful, worry-free setup.
Prodeso Membrane Roll (TC-MEM-BL-162): An uncoupling and crack isolation membrane used beneath the tile, which provides a fast and reliable method for installing the heating cable while protecting the tile finish. The larger 162 sq. ft. roll was used to cover the majority of the subfloor.
