To my knowledge this is my first ever review - but WarmlyYours (WY) earned it!
My wife and I (66 and 67 years ago) recently (couple months ago) completed our installation of the 847 feet 240 volt floor heating cable (Temp Zone Floor Heating Cable) for a new sunroom we had recently added (About 17' by 17'). We used the Prodeso matt under the cable and we installed 18 by 18 ceramic tiles as the flooring surface. We also purchase the n-spire programable thermostat. Our contact person at WY was Jennifer Stasica (Melus) and she was phenomenal. We went thru several (actually many) design and product options before settling in on the ceramic tile as our flooring option. I had a little trouble getting the thermostat connected but the WY tech team was Johnny on the spot and quickly helped me get the thermo connected. For full disclosure my wife and I are both pretty handy - but the instruction from start (checking cable) – to finish (connecting thermos) are spot on and easy to follow. I also took the time to contact Custom Building Products tech support for their recommendation on the bonding primer (we put down on plywood floor) and best thin sent to use in this application (bonding primer MBP and thin set ProLite Premium Large Format). We used the two-step method for installation, i.e Thinset the Prodeso, lay the cable according to the WY supplied plan, then set wire into Predeso and an finally title onto the covered Prodeso/heating cable. I will not hesitate in using WY for any future heating projects but I am thankful this large project is completed. For a bathroom etc. putting down Temp Zone cable would be an easy project. Thank you again Jennifer - and pass on my thanks to your engineering team for the many renditions we worked thru.
PS another reason I waited to do this review was to see how the heated floor performed. No really cold days yet - but on the cooler evenings it is meeting my expectations.

I had no experience installing electric radiant heating in a concrete slab, but with great advice and excellent install instructions I was able to install the cable, connect the thermostat and the system worked first time.
The WarmlyYours team made it all possible by providing a drawing of where the heating cable is to be routed and all other installation instructions. Even when I made changes the WarmlyYours team quickly provided updated drawings and instructions. There is no better place to go for electric floor heating than WarmlyYours.

I ordered the TempZone Cable package.
The sales representatives name was Troy. He answered all my questions prior to placing the order and even suggested additional install advice. The complete packaged arrived with 2 days. No parts were missing or damaged. Installation was a breeze. I consider myself a somewhat handy man and found the install instructions to be 100% beneficial and easy to follow. The heated floor package was to be installed in my ensuite washroom which would then be covered with self leveler followed with ceramic flooring. Though there is a ¾ inch transition from the bedroom to the washroom, we had carpet installed in the bedroom and so the transition from each room is hardly noticeable. Both my wife and I are enjoying the heated ensuite. I would certainly recommend this product and company.

The company was great.
After drawing up a floor plan it went unnoticed that the dimensions of the room were wrong resulting in a cable that was way to long. This was realized once the cable arrived to be installed. Calling up for support they tried to reconfigure the layout to no avail. They kind folks at WarmlyYours re-drew the room to the correct dimensions, took back the too long cable, and shipped the correct length in addition to giving me a price adjustment based on the shorter length. The install went well and now I am enjoying nice warm tile floors in my office. Diane was involved throughout the whole process, being very understanding and supportive.

In my opinion WarmlyYours has perfected the process of designing and installing a radiant floor heating system.
My brother-in-law has been a general contractor for 35+ years and he recommended purchasing a radiant flooring system from WarmlyYours when he heard my son and daughter-in-law wanted to install one in a bathroom I'm renovating for them. This was the first time I installed a radiant floor system and WarmlyYours made it so easy by providing the design / layout drawing, the right materials needed to install it, concise installation instructions and a 24/7 technical support hotline if needed. Cost for the material was reasonable. Looking back I wish I installed a similar system on a couple other bathroom reno's I did.

TempZone™ cables can be installed using two different methods, each with distinct advantages.
Choose based on your subfloor condition, project timeline, and whether you need uncoupling protection.
Cable with GripStrips
The traditional installation method. Self-adhesive GripStrips attach to the subfloor, and the cable
snaps into place at your desired spacing (3″, 4″, or 5″). Cost-effective and proven reliable for any room shape.
Best For:
Stable, crack-free subfloors
Budget-conscious projects
Irregular room shapes
Custom heat coverage

Premium installation using our Prodeso uncoupling membrane. Cable snaps into pre-formed channels at 3.75″ spacing.
Tile can be installed directly over the membrane—no waiting for thinset to cure.
Best For:
Crack-prone subfloors
Tile and stone floors
Faster project timelines
Bathrooms & wet areas
Key Benefits:
Uncoupling & crack isolation
Waterproofing (with accessories)
Direct tile installation
Even load distribution
Still Deciding? Watch Both Methods Side-by-Side
Scott compares both pathways from an engineering perspective—what sits under the tile decides
your heat-up time, your finished floor height, and whether the tile survives.
Three things that catch installers out:
Prodeso needs tile at least 2″ × 2″. Small mosaics and penny tiles flex
into the hollows between the studs under point loads and shear the thinset bond. Choose
fixing strips and SLU for those.
Fixing strips and SLU build the lowest profile—about 3/8″ total—and handle
tight, irregular layouts that a sheet membrane can't follow cleanly.
Prodeso is not a thermal break. It has no R-value, so over concrete a
ThermalSheet underlayment goes down first or heat-up times and running costs both suffer.
The trade-off in short: Prodeso finishes in a single day and adds crack isolation and
waterproofing; SLU takes longer to cure but encases the cable and accepts any tile size.
Cable Installation Accessories
Enhance your cable installation with our underlayment and accessory solutions. Prodeso membrane provides uncoupling protection, ThermalSheet adds insulation over concrete, and GripStrips secure cables at consistent spacing.
A cost-effective alternative to using the Prodeso Cable Installation Membrane, GripStrips Floor Heating Cable Fixing Strips are used for securing TempZone™ floor heating cables in place on floors at predetermined spacing to ensure even heating. These plastic strips enable you to keep the heating cable secured in... (TC-GRIPSTRIP)

Unique design will hold the cable securely during installation
Comes with three holes per piece so it can be screwed to the subfloor
More durable than many comparable cable strips on the market

Every complete WarmlyYours floor heating system—TempZone™, Environ™, or Slab Heat—ships with two floor sensors: one with the heating mat or cable and one with the thermostat. Install the backup right beside the primary sensor and run both leads to the thermostat box, but connect only the primary; the backup stays disconnected until it is needed.
The floor sensor lives under your tile, wood, carpet, or concrete, where it tells the thermostat how warm the floor really is. If that sensor is ever nicked during installation or fails years down the road, replacing it would normally mean tearing up the finished floor.
With the backup already embedded in the floor, the fix takes minutes: turn off power at the breaker, disconnect the original sensor at the thermostat, connect the backup, and your heat is back on. No torn-up floor, no new flooring, no second installation. Follow your thermostat's instructions, or have a qualified electrician make the swap.
Installer tip: Install both sensors side by side, centered between the heating wires, and test each one for 8–15 kΩ before covering the floor. For Slab Heat, place the sensors in capped 3/4″ rigid metal conduit between cable runs, clear of the heating cable, as the Slab Heat installation manual describes.
Floor Type Compatibility
Floor heating cables are compatible with a variety of flooring types. Choose the right system based on your floor covering.
*1 Slab Heat systems are embedded in the concrete slab; any finished flooring can be installed over the cured slab. *2 Prodeso membrane is designed for tile/stone with thinset. Wood/vinyl/carpet floors use Grip Strips instead. *3 Floating floors and stretch-in carpet require Environ™ mats, or use Slab Heat Cable for in-slab heating. *4 Floating floor can be installed over an embedded TempZone system in 3/8–½" self-leveling cement (SLC), fully cured. *5 Carpet floor heating is available in the U.S. only.
Every floor heating cable needs a compatible thermostat. Our most popular options combine easy
installation with precise temperature control.

Yes. While there are some floor heating systems that can be installed beneath floor joists, most electric radiant floor heating systems will need to be installed beneath the floor itself. This is why the best time to install electric floor heating is during a remodel or as a part of a new construction, when a floor is being installed anyways.
If you’re interested in alternative radiant heating methods, check out our Infrared Heating Panels, which are wall-mounted and use infrared technology to provide supplemental heating.

Electric floor heating works by having an electric heating cable installed underneath the flooring (embedded or floating, depending on the system and floor type), which is then wired to a special thermostat (either one specifically designed for electric radiant floor heating, like a WarmlyYours’ nSpiration Series control, or a third-party thermostat). When turned on, the heating cable emits heat upward through the flooring which is then radiated throughout the room, heating all solid surfaces.

You'll Need a Licensed Electrician For:
Thermostat wiring and connection to your electrical panel
GFCI protection installation (required by code)
Dedicated circuit installation if needed
Code compliance and final inspection
Consider Professional Installation For:
Large or complex room layouts
Multiple rooms or whole-home installations
Time-sensitive projects
Commercial applications
Your SmartPlan™ includes detailed installation instructions that make the mechanical installation straightforward. Our 24/7 tech support is available to answer questions during your project, whether you're DIY or working with a contractor.
Operating cost depends on your local electricity rate, the size of the heated area, and how long the system runs. A 120-watt-per-square-meter (about 11 watts per sq. ft.) system heating a 100 sq. ft. room draws roughly 1,100 watts — about $0.18/hr per hour, or $1.43/day for a typical 8-hour day at the current national average electricity rate. Because floor heating is usually zoned and thermostat-controlled, real-world costs are typically lower than these maximums.
Both TempZone Floor Heating Mats and Cables deliver excellent results—the choice depends on your project size, layout, experience level, and climate needs.TempZone Floor Heating Mats are pre-spaced at a fixed 3" spacing (15 watts/sq.ft.) and come in standard sizes (6–210 sq.ft.). They're ideal for:
DIY homeowners and first-time PRO installers
Straightforward rectangular rooms
Faster installation (no spacing calculations)
Smaller to medium projects
Consistent heat output across all climates
TempZone Floor Heating Cable offers complete flexibility and is preferred by experienced installers:
Adjustable spacing based on local climate conditions — you control the watt density
Colder climates (like New York): 3" spacing (15 watts/sq.ft.) for maximum heat output
Standard climates: 4" spacing (11 watts/sq.ft.) — our default recommendation
Ideal for complex layouts, odd-shaped rooms, or climate-optimized designs
The bottom line: Choose mats for simplicity, DIY projects, and standard applications. Choose cable for customization, climate optimization, complex layouts, and experienced installers. Both systems are compatible with thinset and self-leveling compound, backed by our industry-leading warranties, and supported by 24/7 expert guidance.
Pro Tip: Combining Both Systems
Many projects use a combination of both—mats for large open areas and cables for detailed work around fixtures and in tight spaces. Your free SmartPlan™ will recommend the best approach based on your room layout.
